SACRAMENTO-
Capital Chrisitian Rev. Rick Cole had Mayor Kevin Johnson as a guest on Sunday night as he continues his homeless journey.
The mayor met up with Cole for a few hours by the Tower Bridge to show his support. Mayor Johnson couldn’t stay out all night because of a Kings press conference the following morning.
The reverend is choosing to be homeless until he reaches his goal of $100,000 for faith-based program Winter Sanctuary. The program provides food and a warm place for the homeless to sleep during the cold months.
So far, Cole has been living on the streets for over a week. He said he plans on being out there for at least two weeks. According to the Rev on the Streets website, $97,035 has been raised to so far.
