LODI, Calif. (KTXL) — Northbound lanes of Interstate 5 were closed Thursday afternoon following a crash involving two big rigs. Both lanes have since opened, but drivers are asked to drive with caution as officials clean up debris from the crash.
According to the CHP, the crash happened shortly before noon just north of Peltier Road, west of Lodi, causing one of the trucks to spill its load of building materials onto the road.
Officials said someone suffered major injuries but have not released any more information.
A photo from the scene appears to show one truck rear-ended the other. The other truck appeared to be carrying sweet potatoes.
This is a developing story.
