A 21-year-old Olivehurst man is accused of kidnapping, beating and raping his wife.

Investigators say Tyler Van-Levi Hess’ estranged wife, previously reported missing, was found in his trailer. Hess allegedly raped her, hid her clothes and prevented her from leaving, deputies say.

Hess was taking her home when the woman said she was leaving him because of the abuse, investigators said. He then allegedly grabbed her by the hair and beat her again, saying it was “going to get worse.”

Deputies also say Hess pelted the woman with rocks until she agreed to stay with him.

Hess was arrested at his trailer Sunday. He was booked into Yuba County Jail on charges including false imprisonment, kidnapping, rape of a spouse and assault with a deadly weapon.
