Surrounded by medical relics and victims of diseases such as polio, Senator Richard Pan pushed one last time for Senate Bill 277.

"We need to protect our children, making sure diseases like Polio, and Measles don't come back," said the senator at the Sacramento County Valley Medical Museum.

Pan announced changes to the bill the he believed were needed after a recent delay in the vote after public testimony.

Pan said the amendments will have to do with the definition of home school.

Opponents have argued that vaccination should be a choice between a parent and their doctor, and that education is a right and forbidding a child from attending is not right.

The Senate Health Committee will vote Wednesday Morning on SB 277.
