It’s a position the kids are supposed to take when the recess bell rings to calm them down.

“The practice has been there for eight years,” said Stephen Nichols with the Folsom Cordova Unified School District.

Kids at White Rock Elementary School were told to “freeze” with their hands on their knees at the end.

It’s meant to get kids’ attention, calm them down and safely have them walk to class. But a handful of the student’s parents were offended by the rule, calling it an “almost pornographic position.”

They were able to get the school to modify the position. But now they want to change the policy at all schools in the district.

“I do think it is interesting that they would go to another school site and carry it on as if this were some sort of greater cause then it was,” Nichols said.

On a website started by the parents, some 100 supporters have joined the cause.

Officials note that a district-wide change is not in the works.
