A car crashed into a water main Monday morning in south Sacramento, sending hundreds of gallons of water into the air.

The driver cut through a parking lot at 5545 Sky Parkway to “avoid the cops,” the car’s passenger told FOX40.

The car was perched atop a pole meant to protect the water main. It was not immediately clear when the water would be shut off.

Police had the driver put in handcuffs and taken away.

No one was hurt.
