The girl whose message of kindness through bracelets took the community by storm is still going full speed ahead. Saturday Leah Nelson, FOX40 and Michael's in the Natomas Marketplace hosted a bracelet making event to help Nelson fill about 1,700 bracelet orders from around the world.
Those who came to help out made 440 bracelets for Leah, and a few extras to take home for themselves.
Nelson gives the bracelets away free, asking that people pass them bracelets along as they do good deeds for others.
Since FOX40 first profiled Becuz I Care, the 10-year-old's effort to spread goodwill by encouraging random acts of kindness, her message has been viewed over 25 million times. Leah even spoke with Ryan Seacrest recently. She says he gave her $500 to buy back to school supplies. A welcome surprise for Nelson whose family has declined any monetary compensation for her efforts.
