Placer County Sheriff’s deputies wanted to make sure a girl separated from her parents was still able to have a good 7th birthday.

A post from the Sheriff’s Office Wednesday says Sergeant Paul Long, Deputy Allyson Prero and Deputy Kevin Brady took time on their day off to visit the girl at the Children’s receiving home in Auburn.

She was recently “removed” from her parents’ custody during a drug arrest.

They used their own money to buy presents and cake, the Sheriff’s Office said.

Three on-duty deputies also stopped by.
