A family fight led to a man being shot by a Modesto Police officer early Friday morning.

A woman called 911 late Thursday night, pleading for help from her home along Milo Road. The call was disconnected, and attempts to call back were unsuccessful.

Officers arrived and heard a woman screaming from inside the home. Preliminary reports indicate a man was contacted at the home, and he failed to comply with officers’ requests. At some point, an officer fired one round, hitting the man.

He was taken to the hospital where he’s in stable condition. He will face charges in connection with this incident.

The officer was not hurt. They were placed on paid administrative leave as an investigation takes place into what happened.
