There are no reports of a car heard speeding off or anyone running away from the scene.
The lack of information left some homeowners scared.
“Right now, it looks like this might be an isolated incident. So, the community as a whole is safe,” said Sacramento Police Sgt. Sabrina Briggs.
Road closures should remain up in the area for a few hours as homicide detectives work the scene and talk to neighbors.
No information has been released about the victim or the events leading up to the shooting.
“At this moment we have very limited information surrounding the incident. So we urge the community to contact the police department if they have any information,” Sgt. Briggs said.
