A Lodi man was arrested Wednesday night after he reportedly bit an officer.

Anthony Wright, 30, was arrested after he allegedly assaulted officers who were conducting a welfare check, police said.

Police say concerned citizens called to report an unresponsive man in a car in the Applebee’s parking lot.

When officers arrived, they found Wright and called for medical assistance.  Police say Wright became combative with the officers and bit one of them.

Police said Wright also had a gun at the time of his arrest.

Wright was charged with DUI, battery on a law enforcement officer and several other charges.
