Police Seeking Assistance Identifying Driver in Fatal Hit-and-Run

SACRAMENTO — The Sacramento Police Department is seeking the public’s assistance in identifying the driver and vehicle in a fatal hit-and-run accident early Sunday morning on Northgate Boulevard.

Officers responded to Northgate Boulevard around 1:15 a.m. Sunday and found an unresponsive 60-year-old man lying on the ground along the east side of the street. He was later pronounced dead at the scene by Sacramento Fire crews.

The unidentified victim is described as a black male wearing dark-colored clothing and using a walking cane. According to police, the investigation indicates that the victim was walking north along the east side of Northgate Boulevard.

Officials investigating the incident are still working to determine a cause, and, at this time, police have no description of the suspect vehicle or driver.
