Gallery Owner Chooses to Leave Vandalism Up

A painted artistic mural of President Obama sits atop the Brickhouse Gallery in Oak Park.

Spray painted on the mural is a message: “NWO, (new world order). No War!” it reads.

But, perhaps the biggest message is gallery curator Barbara Range’s decision to leave the mural up, along with the spray paint.

“I think this is really incredible. Whenever you have something that is that controversial in art that makes the news, that’s an incredible thing,” one passerby said. “You have several different voices expressing their opinions.
