It developed Wednesday under tough conditions in Rocklin and across the region as strangers become friends - helping one another fill sandbags to stave off a soggy threat.
"My wife had to clean up what transpired, so I want to put them front of my door. Went in the front door, yeah, not very fun," Constantine Perakis said.
"We got some flooding. I don't know if you saw that today," neighbor Dave Cox said. "A touch of rain out there so it's flooding, water coming into the garage at the side of the house and ruining some things."
Cox tried to maintain his sense of humor with water rising happening at his home in Loomis.
He got the wet word from his wife through Snapchat around 4 p.m. and rounded up some friends from his small group at Bayside church to help fill bags.
"Lowe's was out. Home Depot was out," he said.
Luckily, a friend in Rocklin knew about this self-service sandbag spot at the Rocklin Corporation Yard.
It's sand that may save the day and the garage.
"Took one load back that was 24 bags, probably gonna fill another 50," said Cox.
