ROSEVILLE-

New year. New life. Meet baby Justin. Born at 12:02 Thursday morning, he is our New Years Baby.

“We’ve been known to call each other’s hospitals and see who is in labor and how far dialated they are, and just get an idea where everyone stands,” said Jeanne Conry of Kaiser Permanente.

At 8 pounds, 14 ounces, little Justin made his entrance into the world at just the right time. Well, depending on which parent you ask.

“The joke was that he was a tax baby coming before the 31st, but he came on the 1st,” said Jorge Casado, the boy’s father. “We love him no matter what.”

“He was actually due on December 26th,” added the boy’s mother Marissa. “I was scheduled to be induced tomorrow, so he must have just had plans.”

It’s hard to not look at his placid face – calm and serene during our entire visit – without considering your own plans for 2015, with hoping this year too will in some way be a more calm and serene one.

When his big sister was asked, “The first time you met him, what did you think about him?”

She paused for a moment before smiling, and replied, “Wonderful.”
