SACRAMENTO — A Sacramento Costco was evacuated Thursday night following a report of someone seen armed with a weapon inside the store.

Following a search, the Sacramento Police Department says their officers did not find anyone inside the Exposition Parkway store who matched the report.

David Duran tweeted his shopping trip was “cut short” when officers ran inside Costco with their weapons drawn.

Duran’s wife, Christina, told FOX40 they watched as two officers checked the aisles. The couple abandoned their carts when an employee told them there was “an emergency.”

“No one was really freaking out but this isn’t really normal,” Christina Duran said after the scare.

The police department did not say who made the initial report about the possibly armed person.
