Police, fire crews investigating after person found dead in burned car

SACRAMENTO, Calif. (KTXL) — The Sacramento Police Department is working to determine the cause of death of a person found in a burned car Wednesday night.

Officers responded to the area of Taylor Street, near South Avenue, around 11:30 p.m. after the fire was extinguished, police said.

Police said the person was an adult, but no further information was released.

Early Thursday morning, police reported the incident as a homicide.

Police said fire investigators are also helping to determine the cause of the fire.
