Police are searching for the murder suspect behind a stabbing that happened in Downtown Sacramento on Thursday evening.

When officers arrived to a residential apartment building on 10th Street near J Street, they discovered a man in his 50’s suffering from multiple stab wounds in the hallway.

Authorities said the suspect left the scene on foot by the time they got there.

Officers tried to save the victim, but he was later declared dead on scene by the Sacramento Fire Department Medics.

Homicide detectives and crime scene investigators then conducted a thorough investigation of the scene.

Based on their investigation, the suspect has been identified as 41-year-old Gordan James.

Authorities describe James as “armed and dangerous.”
