Tuesday was World Spay Day, and the local SPCA celebrated by reaching a milestone – its 150,000 procedure in seven years.

The proof is in the decreasing number of animals being surrendered to local shelters. SPCA CEO Rick Johnson says that number has been reduced by half. The good news is the clinic is busy with doctors performing 65 plus procedures a day, and they are affordable.

World Spay day is presented by the Humane Society and supported by various  Veterinary Associations.
