(FOX40.COM) — A person is in critical condition after a car hit them, according to the Sacramento Fire Department.

The incident occurred just after 9 p.m. on Wednesday near Fruitridge Road just west of Stockton Boulevard.

Authorities confirmed that the person, who is in a wheelchair, was taken to a local hospital.
