YOLO COUNTY — A vegetation fire broke out in Yolo County, according to the Sacramento Fire Department.
The incident started off County Road 41 and Highway 16 and as of Thursday morning was 2,512 acres and 90% contained.
Seven non-residential structures have been destroyed.
The blaze, now named the Sand Fire, caused Highway 16 to be shut down in both directions between Highway 20 and Brooks. It was reopened at noon Wednesday.
Evacuation orders for all residents on County Road 41 were lifted at 5 p.m. Monday. The evacuation center at the Esparto Boy Scout Cabin at 16980 Yolo Avenue was suspended, according to Cal Fire.
