Several blocks in midtown Sacramento taped off as SWAT team helps serve warrant; 2 arrested

Two were arrested Thursday evening in connection with a Dunnigan motel shooting that left one person in critical condition on Nov. 19, police said.

Julian Garcia, 35, of Dunnigan and Monica Flores, 38, of Sacramento were arrested on 19th Street in Sacramento, police said. Both were booked into the Yolo County Jail.

Garcia is charged with attempted murder and assault with a deadly weapon, while Flores is charged with being an accessory to the shooting, police added.

The Yolo County Sheriff’s Office worked in collaboration with the U.S. Marshalls, as well as the Sacramento Police Department.

SACRAMENTO, Calif. (KTXL) — A SWAT team was in midtown Sacramento Thursday night while police served a warrant.

There was a heavy police presence in the area of 19th Street and Capitol Avenue where several blocks were taped off.

Sacramento police say they were helping the Yolo County Sheriff’s Office serve the warrant but did not provide any additional details.
