SACRAMENTO — The Sacramento County Sheriff’s Department is investigating a deadly shooting that left one man dead.

The shooting happened around 9:45 p.m. Monday near Truax Court and Edison Avenue.

Witnesses reported hearing several gunshots.

When authorities arrived on the scene, they located a man inside a car; he had multiple gunshot wounds and was later pronounced dead at the scene.

“Kids could have got hurt or killed you know,” said neighbor Pam Guilford.

Guilford, who lives at the nearby Cambridge Apartments, said since she moved in in June there have been several deadly shootings.

“One guy was killed over there, right across the street not too long ago,” she said.

Back in October, a man was shot and killed in the front yard of home on Edison Avenue. Two men were arrested the following day.

Before that another shooting was investigated at the same intersection as Monday night`s shooting.

Detectives are hoping someone will come forward and help them figure out who was responsible for the latest deadly gunfire.
