SACRAMENTO — The suspect in Saturday morning’s bomb threat at an area department store was arrested by sheriffs hours later, officials say.
Larry Blesset, 38, is in custody after calling in a false bomb threat at the Target on Fulton Avenue. Authorities say Blesset indicated there were bombs in the building and a sniper outside the store.
After Target personnel evacuated the store, Sacramento County sheriffs began their investigation, but found no evidence of suspicious packages or devices. The store resumed operations shortly after.
An investigation led sheriffs to a residence in the 5300 block of Marconi Avenue, where the located and arrested Blesset who had the cell phone which was used to make the bomb threat.
Blesset was booked into the Sacramento County Main Jail for bomb threats, criminal threats and a violation of parole.
