Police: Shooting at house party leaves one man dead, 4 others injured

SACRAMENTO, Calif. (KTXL) — Sacramento police say at least one person has died another four people have been injured in a shooting Saturday.

According to officials, the shooting occurred at a house party on Gardendale Road near 29th Street just before 7:20 p.m.

When first responders arrived they found three people with gunshot wounds, one of whom had life-threatening injuries and was taken to a local hospital for treatment. The male victim died from his injuries. The other two victims did not have life-threatening injuries.

Authorities were later notified that two more shooting victims drove themselves to the hospital for treatment of non-life-threatening wounds.

All of the four surviving victims were male, with one being identified as a 16-year-old kid.

Police are still investigating the motive behind the shooting but they say the shots were fired as a result of some type of altercation. 

There is no information on a suspect.
