SOLANO COUNTY — Around 1:08 p.m. Monday, authorities found an unresponsive inmate in her cell at the Justice Center Detention Facility.

The Vacaville woman, Tammy Hothi, 45, was arrested July 20 by Suison City police on robbery and probation violation charges.

Detectives were called to investigate the circumstances surrounding Hothi’s death. Their preliminary findings suggest her death was a suicide.

It is reported that Hothi was in a cell by herself and a ligature device created from bedding was wrapped around her neck.

Correctional staff reports Hothi was last seen alive at 12:15 p.m. Monday during a cell check.

Napa County Coroner’s Office will conduct an autopsy to determine an official cause of death.
