SACRAMENTO — Southbound roadways were reopened Tuesday night on Highway 99 in north Sacramento after a big rig was overturned.
Caltrans reported multiple lane closures as the semitrailer, laying on its side, and the load of rice it was carrying blocked the highway.
The crash between the big rig and a Toyota Corolla was reported shortly before 2 p.m., just south of Elkhorn Boulevard. According to California Highway Patrol, the Toyota spun out on the rain-soaked highway and collided with the semitrailer.
Traffic was diverted toward Elkhorn Boulevard exit as the crash was being cleared by authorities.
