Stockton Man Shot in Truck Dies at Hospital, Police Search for Suspects

STOCKTON —

A Stockton man died in the hospital after he was shot by a suspect while sitting in his truck.

At 12:50 a.m., the 57-year-old victim was sitting in his vehicle in the area of Lincoln Street and Martin Luther King Boulevard, when the first suspect approached him on the passenger side of the truck. After a  short exchange of words between the two, the suspect struck and then shot the victim.

The suspect then pointed the gun at the witnesses who saw the incident. A second suspect took the witnesses’ keys and tossed them into the bed of the victim’s truck before fleeing the scene.

The witnesses transported the victim to an area hospital where they reported the incident to the Stockton Police Department. The victim later succumbed to his injuries.

The suspects were described as two African-American males between 30 and 40 years old. One of the suspects was described as 6 feet tall, weighing 195 lbs. At the time of the incident, he wore a  green jacket, black shirt and black jeans. The second suspect was described as similar in height, weighing between 200 and 250 lbs. He was last seen wearing a plain white t-shirt, black jeans and black shoes.
