Stockton Police arrested a driver believed to have killed a pedestrian in a hit and run Friday morning.
Investigators say the pedestrian was struck along South El Dorado Street shortly before 7:20 a.m. One witness gave officers a description of the vehicle while another followed.
The suspect hit and run driver then got into a collision with a car down El Dorado on Churchill Street and fled that scene as well, according to investigators.
Police caught up with the driver along Robinhood Drive, where the driver reportedly crashed into an officer’s patrol car.
The driver was taken into custody. It’s unknown if drugs or alcohol played a factor.
