INCLINE VILLAGE, Nev. (AP) — Washoe County sheriff’s deputies have arrested a fourth suspect in an armed robbery at Lake Tahoe last month where two victims were held up by a group of young men they befriended at a local casino.
Deputies took 21-year-old Tristian Summers of Incline Village into custody at Reno-Tahoe International Airport in Reno on Sunday upon his return from Mexico.
The sheriff’s office said Monday the two victims of the March 21 robbery told investigators they met the group of men while gambling in Incline Village and decided to walk with them to a nearby saloon.
One of the men demanded their wallets at gunpoint while walking near the Hyatt hotel-casino. One victim handed over his wallet but the other refused to comply and was struck in the head by the man with the weapon, the sheriff’s office said.
Three men were arrested several hours after the incident. Summers was charged Sunday with five felony counts including robbery, battery, assault and conspiracy to commit robbery — all with the use of a deadly weapon.
He was being held without bail Monday in the Washoe County Jail. It’s not clear if he has a lawyer or will be appointed one.
