The price of gas keeps falling, as many consider their upcoming holiday travel plans.
FOX40 was at one of the busiest ARCO stations near El Camino and Howe Avenue when they dropped the price to $2.79 for a gallon of regular gas Thursday.
The station was already packed when gas was four-cents higher. After the price drop, cars were waiting in line for pumps.
The station’s owner told FOX40 he prides himself on having the cheapest gas in town.
“Customers get an opportunity to save some money. If the economy is going to get better, that is a part of it right there at the pump,” Mohammed Zamiri, the station owner, said.
According to AAA, gas prices in Sacramento have dropped, on average, more than 40-cents a gallon since last month.
A quick glance through gasbuddy.com’s listings show more than a dozen gas stations around Sacramento with gas below $2.85/gallon.
