A four-year-old's birthday party at Chuck E. Cheese's on Arden Way in Sacramento was ruined after thieves stole all his gifts out of his uncle's car.
Jayden Jones celebrated his fourth birthday at the restaurant Saturday night.
His mother Natalie Jones said he got a generous amount of gifts.
"My son got several gifts, gift cards, presents, I mean it was amazing how much love and support he was shown,"Natalie Jones said.
But all of those tokens of love were taken away.
When the party was over, Jayden's uncle Stefan had loaded the gifts into his car and then went back inside to carry out the decorations. When he returned, his back window was broken.
"Glass was shattered all in here... it didn't even occur to me that the gifts were gone until I talked to my brother and sister-in-law," Stefan Jones said.
"Anything everyone gave him, his blanket that was made for him. I mean just gifts that people worked hard for, to get for my son because it's not easy," Natalie Jones said.
The blanket was handmade by a family friend, and featured an image of one of Jayden's favorite characters, the minions from the film Despicable Me, which was also the theme of his party.
"And it's the tie blanket, you know, she spent time on making that for him, and now it's gone," Natalie Jones said.
Jayden's father, Rickey Jones said he was especially shocked, because Chuck E. Cheese's has a security guard on duty outside in the parking lot.
"Definitely the ball was dropped. It's a kid's establishment. There should be more protection there," Rickey Jones told FOX40.
But the important thing, according to his parents, is Jayden is still too young to realize he lost anything.
"We had a lot of friends and family and stuff so it took his mind off of it. Instantly as soon as he got home, all he wanted to do is play with his cousins and friends and stuff," Rickey Jones said.
