An animal rescue organization in Woodland is caring for three Rottweilers that were abandoned in poor health last month.

A witness saw somebody in a pickup truck leaving dogs by the side of a rural road in the town of Byron, according to Renee Lancaster, founder of Rotts of Friends Animal Rescue.

"The pickup drove off and these people left three beautiful young Rottweilers behind," Lancaster explained. "They were cared for by the people that found them.  When no one came to look for them, they called us."

Rotts of Friends gave the dogs veterinary care, and the two females and a male are now ready for adoption.
