A tornado that hit Denair over the weekend has caused about $488,100 in construction damage, according to the Stanislaus County Sheriff’s Department.

The estimate could increase or decrease later depending on evaluations that have not yet been completed.

The tornado touched down on Sunday afternoon. No one was injured. The strong winds knocked down trees, power lines and damaged several buildings.
