SUTTER COUNTY—

A big rig hauling a load of beer went up in smoke overnight, with crews still working Tuesday morning to clean up the damage.

CHP first reported the fire just after 10:30 p.m. Monday. Damage to the roadway and the burned-out hull of the trailer is causing continued closure to the right lane of southbound Highway 99 just north of Power Line Road.

Motorists traveling through the area are encouraged to find a way around the roadway.
