Two people in Sacramento are being monitored for possible Ebola exposure, the Sacramento County Department of Public Health confirmed Wednesday.
Health officials say the two, both having recently traveled from West Africa, are “self-monitoring” at home, and taking their own temperatures twice daily.
Both people are considered to be “low-risk.”
They were flagged by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention because of their travel history, and they asked the county health department to monitor them.
If symptoms of the virus do occur, the county will arrange special ambulance transport to the hospital.
