MODESTO —

Two men and a minor were arrested in connection to a shooting in West Modesto on Wednesday night.

Stanislaus County sheriff’s deputies responded to the shooting and began looking for the vehicle used in the shooting. Moments later, it was spotted near Crows Landing Road and Highway 99 in South Modesto.

Several patrol units were able to stop the vehicle near Ustick Road and Boise Avenue. Two of the four people in the car ran from deputies, according to the sheriff’s department.

A K9 found 20-year-old Nicholas Franco, who was armed with a stolen pistol, deputies said. Alexis Bautista, 20, and a 16-year-old minor were also taken into custody. The unidentified driver of the vehicle has not been found.

The vehicle allegedly used in the shooting was stolen earlier in the evening in West Modesto, deputies said.

Franco, Bautista and the minor are documented gang members, according to deputies.
