Police and a bomb saquad shut down streets in Vacaville Monday evening as they investigated a suspicious device that was found on a bike path.

Southbound Peabody at Beelard Drive was closed to traffic as officials investigated the suspicious device that was found on a bike path that runs adjacent to the road.

Ultimately, the device was determined to not be explosive or hazardous. It was collected and removed and the streets reopened about 9:20 p.m.

The Napa County bomb squad was on the scene to examine the device. They used a bomb robot to get a closer look.
