The family and friends of a man killed in a hit and run Jan. 9 gathered for a candle light vigil Sunday night, asking for answers.
Robert Young, 33, was struck by two vehicles on Mack Road and Archean Way just after 12:50 a.m. Saturday morning, according to the Sacramento Police Department. The first vehicle was driving westbound on Mack Road when the driver hit Young as he was walking in the roadway. The driver fled the scene.
Sacramento police said the second vehicle struck Young before witnesses could aid him. The driver of that vehicle stopped and remained at the scene until authorities arrived. Young was pronounced dead on the scene by the Sacramento Fire Department.
This incident is still being investigated, and police are asking for the public's help to identify the vehicle and driver that fled the scene. Investigators are also checking nearby cameras for any further leads.
