Wildfire smoke affecting air quality in Sacramento Valley

Local News

SACRAMENTO, Calif. (KTXL) — Air quality in the Sacramento region is being heavily affected by wildfire smoke, prompting emergency alerts.

Jamie Arno, with the Sacramento Metro Air Quality Management District, says a north wind is pushing smoke into the Sacramento Valley, mixing with the air and getting to ground level.

“Smoke is simply unhealthy to breathe,” Arno said.
