HALF MOON BAY — The person killed in a plane crash Friday near Half Moon Bay has been identified as 57-year-old Melissa Magee, of Sacramento.

The pilot of the plane was identified by the Sacramento Aero Flying Club as Steve Magee.

San Mateo County Sheriff’s spokesman Salvador Zuno says authorities were called to the scene in the Moss Beach area near Half Moon Bay Airport around 11:18 a.m. Friday. He said in addition to the death, one person was injured.

He did not have additional details. The Federal Aviation Administration said two people were aboard the plane, and it was coming from Sacramento to Half Moon Bay.

Dick Tak of the Sac Aero Flying Club Inc., told FOX40 that Thursday he flew the plane involved in the crash and experienced no issues with the aircraft.
