SOUTH SACRAMENTO -- A woman was found shot in South Sacramento after crashing into several vehicles.

Deputies said they were called out to the intersection of Florin Road and Lindale Drive just before 4 p.m. Sunday to the scene of a crash, where they found the victim.

The victim was in the hospital Sunday night recovering from her non-life threatening injuries.

Ana Machuca was inside her restaurant when she heard a loud noise outside.

"Well we were in the kitchen, you know, we had some clients and we just hear a car slam into something and then the tires just like break. And we just got super scared and came out, rushed outside," Machuca told FOX40. "Saw the guy screaming, like they came out of their car. We thought somebody got run over because we saw somebody on the floor but we didn’t know what had happened and we were kind of scared."

Witnesses told FOX40 they saw several people getting out of one of the cars right after the crash.

The driver of a truck involved in the crash said he was driving down the street when he saw the victim's car speeding toward him. He said it slammed into a parked car before running into the back end of his truck.

It came to a stop right in front of Machuca's restaurant.

"I was scared, honestly, I was looking out of the window afterwards," Machuca said.

It’s still unclear where the victim was shot or who did it.

Machuca said she was just grateful no one inside of her business was hurt.

"We’re grateful nothing else happened, I mean that, hopefully, the person is OK," she said.

By Sunday night, deputies had not released any suspect information.
