A Vermont woman had to go to the hospital after she was reportedly bitten by a black widow spider hiding in a bag of grapes.

The 21-year-old woman’s mother told WPTZ that she bought a bag of grapes from a Shaw’s grocery store. When she reached inside, the spider apparently crawled up her arm and bit her.

Shaw’s said in a statement that they are monitoring the situation closely.

Doctors say black widow bites cause muscle pain, weakness and flu-like symptoms, but are rarely fatal for healthy adults.

The spiders can easily be identified by the bright red hourglass shape on its underside.
