STOCKTON —

Neighbors and friends held candles and said prayers for a South Stockton family that was murdered in their home just before midnight on Friday.

San Joaquin County Sheriff’s detectives say two men entered the home on S. Laurel Street and opened fire.

Three people including a husband and wife in their 50s and the husbands son who neighbors said was in his 30s were found dead at the scene.

Detectives say another couple in the home was also shot and taken to the hospital.

Neighbors say they are currently in stable condition.

The deceased victim in his 30s had a small boy who was also home at the time.

Neighbors say that boy ran outside knocking on doors until someone came out to help him.

“It is hard for me. It really is hard. Yesterday she came by and left. I would have never thought this would happen,” said a friend of the victims who wanted to remain anonymous.

Neighbors say the deceased victims were well known and liked.

The other couple that was injured, but survived were relatives that had recently moved to the home.

The two suspects were described as Hispanic males in their 30s.

Both were seen exiting the home and getting into a small black truck.

Anyone with information is urged to contact the San Joaquin Sheriff’s Department at 209-468-4400.
