As crews work to finish the new home of the 49ers, the name will belong to another San Francisco brand: Levi Strauss.

The clothing company announced Wednesday they are proposing a 20-year, $220 million naming rights agreement for the new Santa Clara stadium.

The team tweeted an artist’s rendering of the new Levi’s Stadium, which is scheduled to open Fall 2014.

Jed York, the CEO of the 49ers, says the partnership highlights both the team and the clothing company’s Bay Area roots.

“Levi’s jeans were designed for the 49ers during the gold rush. It was a good fit for them then & it’s a good fit today,” he tweeted.
