SACRAMENTO–

What’s your optimal game watching experience? Dine in or take out? We asked this question to 49er fans around Sacramento and found that, either way, local restaurants did very well on game day.

There was no shortage of energy at Sacramento sports bars, as hundreds of die-hard fans showed their spirit with their wardrobe.

“I got the tattoo, the gold, the red, the white, just supporting!” one bar patron said.

“It’s a 3-day weekend … you should be out partying … you know? Why stay at home?” asked another.

Others preferred a comfy, front row seat on their couch. By early afternoon, lines were out the door for Hot-N-Ready pick-up items at Little Caesar’s on Fruitridge Road.

“I’m glad I came early before everybody came,” a woman in line said.

“Nobody wants to cook,” said a patron carrying out four pizza boxes. “Everybody just wants to watch.”

The number of pizza deliveries was also higher than usual. One establishment told us on a normal Sunday, they usually have around 20 to 30 deliveries. But this Sunday, they already had 40 deliveries by early afternoon.

Dickey’s BBQ Pit in Midtown did not see as many diners inside their stores, compared to the large number of online and catering orders.

“My Elk Grove store ran out of ribs,” Angela Donegan, General Manager of Dickey’s BBQ Pit said. “They had to come here and borrow some from me, and I ran out of Mac and Cheese, so I had to go borrow some from them. So we were playing musical chairs, back and forth.”

Dine in, take out, or partying at the bar, everyone seemed to be sharing their love for the 49ers.
