SACRAMENTO -- A pedestrian has died after being hit by a train Tuesday morning on 26th Avenue just before 6:30 a.m.
The Blue line train was going southbound near the Fruitridge station when the train operator saw someone with dark clothing on the tracks.
The operator slowed down to about 25 to about 40 miles per hour.
Unfortunately, a 65-year-old Caucasian man was stuck by the train, and died on the tracks.
All train services are stopped between Sacramento City College and 47th Avenue.
Sacramento Regional Transit has buses picking people up.
