The windy weather has been no picnic for fire fighters in the Sacramento area.
“Some of my children came running toward my apartment saying ‘fire, fire,’” said Paul Taylor.
Taylor looked out his door to see billowing black smoke from the playground at Community Outreach Academy Elementary School. Stoked by the winds, that fire spread quickly.
“The fence was on fire. It looked like there was a car on fire, a car port, and plumes of black smoke,” said Taylor.
Meanwhile, Cal Fire was working a grass fire North of Sacramento, where they were spraying the dry grass of a field a Palladay and Baseline Roads, to make certain a fire there wouldn’t rekindle.
Fire fighters South of Sacramento were seeing action too, as they worked to stop a small grass fire of Florin Road.
