SACRAMENTO-

The Sacramento City Council took time Tuesday evening to recognize Josiah Humphreys, the man beaten to death March 17 in midtown.

Ten days after his killing, his attackers are still out there but police have hope.

“Right now, what investigators are doing, they’re pleased with the amount of video surveillance they were able to recover,” said Sacramento Police Ofc. Doug Morse.

Morse said the footage is from businesses and homes near 18th and P Streets, where Humphreys was attacked.

“The task is to go through literally hundreds of hours of video surveillance to try and identify the responsible parties of those involved,” Morse said.

Humphreys’ family says he visited a few bars that evening before he was attacked by three people and left for dead.
