Stockton Police are searching for a man who tried to kill someone after a minor car accident Tuesday morning.

Police say the victim was heading north on Frontage Road when someone hit them from behind.

The victim got out of his car, but the suspect told him to keep going.

The victim insisted he needed the drivers information; that is when the suspect grabbed his pistol and pulled the trigger.

The gun didn’t discharge so the suspect hit the victim unconscious and stabbed him.

The suspect took off as passersby started approaching. The suspect then crashed into a tree then left the car near a field before fleeing the scene.

The suspect was described as a dark Hispanic or black male between the ages of 21 and 22.

He’s roughly 5-feet-6-inches tall and weighs between 185 and 190 pounds.

The suspect has medium length dark hair and was last seen wearing a gray t-shirt and blue jeans.
